Excellent edition
I recommend purchasing this edition rather than the Durand or Kalmus (Alfred). It seems to use the same plates, however many accidentals in the other two editions are sketchy and hard to read. This Italian edition is darker print, and better quality. It will save you time from having to write in accidentals that aren't clear. The music is for virtuosos and is of the same level as the most demanding Chopin Etudes. The one exception is the lovely Le cloches de las Palmas. The two Etudes in thirds are equal to Chopin's in difficulty and add to the fun by having the left hand also play thirds. The final Etude is the most brilliant and most often played. It's a Toccata based on the same material as the Finale from the Egyptian Concerto (No. 5), and is a showpiece, suitable to end a recital or as an impressive encore.
