Level 2A – Lesson Book – 2nd Edition Piano Adventures® by Nancy Faber Piano Method - Sheet Music

By Nancy Faber

The 2nd Edition Level 2A Lesson Book follows Piano Adventures Level 1. The book opens with a Note Reading Guide and an introduction to eighth note rhythm patterns. Students work with 5-finger transposition, functional harmony, and musical phrases. Exploration of C, G, D and A major and minor 5-finger positions builds on intervallic reading skills that were introduced in the earlier level. Appealing repertoire reinforces key concepts and encourages students to explore musical expression through varied dynamics and tempos. Selections include well-known classics from the great composers and original compositions.

    Lesson book 2A

Bought lesson books to teach grandchildren basics of piano. Will not use book 2 until they accomplish book 1. Being a retired teacher, I found the material to be age appropriate for beginners.

    Piano Adventures Lesson book 2A

A great lesson book, with 2 note chords in the beginning and introducing 3 note chords in the middle. Most of the music is fun for the student. As a teacher, it uses pentascales in the music in a very melodic way. Students enjoy playing this music. The secret to getting a student to play is to get them to enjoy the material

    Solid Foundation

This series is very good for young and older learners. The artistry and performance books are good supplements as they have lots of songs to practice. I would pass on the theory book unless you are a teacher. For the self-learner I am finding that it basically repeats what's in the lesson book plus there are no practice songs in the theory book.
