Excellent Resource for Intermediate Horn Students

Fun & Rewarding Classical Horn Solos!
I absolutely love this collection! Playing these beautiful classical pieces by composers like Bach and Schumann is incredibly satisfying. The 'intermediate' level feels just right for a dedicated adult learner; challenging but totally achievable. The online audio is a game-changer – it's so motivating to play along with the accompaniment and really feel like I'm sounding like the record. A truly enjoyable way to explore classical horn!

Master Solos Intermediate Level
I have used this collection of solos in my studio teaching for several years and like it very much. Students who are able to reach the horn G below the staff to the G at the top of the staff will be ready to play these pieces. Louis Stout, the editor, has included interesting information about each piece and its composer, definitions for musical terms used in the piece and preparatory exercises. Each solo has a challenging aspect to it. i.e. stopped horn, compound meter and 20th century writing. The CD which goes along with the collection lets the student listen to the piece and also play with accompaniment only
