A must buy book
I would give this book six stars if I could. It is great! Why? Obviously none of these songs are ones you have not heard before. They have all been arranged, re-arranged, re-done, re-hashed, and done to death again. But Mikes arrangements run rings around any other arrangements I have heard and he really spices them up and brings these pieces to life. They mostly have that jazz/swing style to them and are quite unpredictable. You really don't know just what is coming next when you start playing these arrangements. They are interesting and fun to play. Some are quite tricky and require a lot of concentration to perfect - but persevere and they are worth the effort. I get a lot of positive comments about these arrangements from people when I play them.

Popular Performer 1960s
What a great book! This was exactly what I was hoping for. I purchased this book to add to my Popular Performer collection. Since this is my first exposure to Mike Springer, I wasn't sure what to expect but was treated to a full variety of sounds, rhythms, chords, riffs, etc. I would highly recommend this book for anyone looking for a challenge and a way to show off (even to yourself)! Thank you, Mr. Springer. I will definitely look for your arrangements again in the future!

Popular Performer 1960s
This is the best book I' ve bought in several years! I am a child of the 60's, so I really enjoy the selections. I already owned books with these songs, but these arrengements are unique, and I enjoy the jazz riffs.There is some challenge to the arrangements, and that's what I was looking for. The arrangements are pleasing to the ear, and fun to play.

Arrangements too jazzy
I took a look at the samples and thought it would be nice to have this book as I wanted to play WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD and TRY TO REMEMBER but now that I've received it, I find the arrangements far too jazzy for me. I would have preferred a more sentimental arrangement.

A Delightful Challenge
Some beautifully arranged, distinctly jazzed-up, interpretations of beloved songs. Lots of octaves and other reaches - definitely a challenge for me - but you can miss lots of notes and still pull it off.Bossa nova, jazz waltz, swing, honky tonk - it's full of fun rhythms. The Pink Panther arrangement by itself makes it a good buy - the other songs are bonuses!
