fun, varied and useful
an exemplary choice of American styles from 3 centuries, this book has some good teaching material and a useful selection of music to perform from when you need something a bit different from Beethoven! A good book for your piano library.

pretty good variety
This book has 42 pieces of varied difficulty and includes mostly what I would call popular culture numbers--everything from a great arrangement for piano of Leroy Anderson's Sleigh Ride to jazz, blues and rag classics. Three of the 42 are also in the Masters of American Piano Music (Alfred Masterwork) collection. And the four Gershwin pieces are all in the Gershwin Complete Works (Alfred Masterwork).
