In Greek mythology, the Phoenix is the son of the sun. He symbolizes immortality, renewal and life after death.Spanish composer Teo Aparicio Barberan created an epic musical journey that starts with Lacerated Heart, The Man I Want to Be, and ends with New Times. The Phoenix also represents the present and future of one of the oldest orchestras in Valencia, Spain, Banda de Musica de Enguera. Barberan dedicates The Rise of the Phoenix to his wife, Sara.

De Spaande componist Teo Aparicio Barberan componeerde dit epos in driedelen: Lacerated Heart, The Man I want to be en New Times.
