Enjoyable and Achievable Oscar Peterson!
Finally, I can play some Oscar Peterson without feeling totally overwhelmed! This Canadiana Suite collection is fantastic for an adult learner like me. The simplified arrangements mean I can actually sit down on a weekend and feel like I'm playing real jazz from a master. It's so enjoyable to work through these beautiful pieces inspired by Canada. Highly recommend for pure fun and relaxation at the piano.

Excellent Solo Piano; Not for Vocal Support
As a collaborative pianist, I'm always looking for well-arranged scores. This Canadiana Suite by Oscar Peterson, while a brilliant collection for solo piano study, is strictly a piano solo transcription. It's not designed to support a vocalist directly, lacking a separate vocal line or specific accompaniment texture. However, for demonstrating Peterson's incredible melodic and harmonic ingenuity, or for personal study of jazz piano voicings, it's superb.

Solid, Playable Peterson Transcriptions
For quick-study gigs or background music, this Canadiana Suite offers a very practical collection. While not a 'note-for-note' transcription in the most intricate sense, the simplified arrangements are still recognizably Peterson and easy to get under the fingers quickly. The individual pieces are manageable. Just be aware that if you need full, complex voicings for a high-end jazz gig, you might need to augment them yourself.

Canadiana Suite
This is not a note-for-note transcription, and it is very simplified. I recommend finding a copy of the Note for Note edition. This is a rare rating for me, but it is not for you if you want full chords and nearly exactly like Oscar Peterson instead of a simplified version.
