De 'Symphonieën der Nederlanden' is een werk voor blaasorkest dat uit één deel bestaat. Daarin zitten weer 7 onderdelen vervat die elk een ander muzikaal thema behandelen. De verbindende gedachte hiertussen wordt gevormd door 'zwaar werk', zoals het trekken van een ploeg door de vlakke Hollandse polders. Zwaar werk en altijd hetzelfde. Soms met een beetje ontspanning, zoals de charleston aan het eind, maar we houden wel de klompen aan. Het gaat om een ernstig werk.

Symphonieën der Nederlanden' is a piece in one movement for wind band. It contains seven subdivisions, each of them treating a different musical theme. But the unifying idea is hard work, the same kind of hard work as dragging a plough through the flat Dutch polder fields. Heavy work, and always the same. Sometimes a bit of relaxation, like the charleston at the end, but we keep our clogs on. It's a serious piece.

Symphonieën der Nederlanden' (Symphonies des šPays-Bas) est une oeuvre en un seul mouvement pour orchestre d'harmonie. Elle comprend sept parties qui correspondent à sept thèmes différents. L'idée unificatrice est le labeur, pareil au dur travail de ceux qui labourent les champs des Polders hollandaises. Un labeur qui se répète sans cesse. De temps en temps il y a un peu de détente, comme le charleston à la fin, mais nous gardons nos sabots. Il s'agit d'une oeuvre sérieuse.

Die 'Symfonieën der Nederlanden' ist ein Stück in einem Satz für Blasorchester. Es besteht aus sieben Teilen, die jeweils ein anderes musikalisches Thema behandeln. Aber der einheitliche Gedanke ist harte Arbeit, die gleiche Art harter Arbeit wie die Bearbeitung des flachen niederländischen Polderlandes mit einem Pflug. Schwere Arbeit, und immer das gleiche. Manchmal ein bisschen Erholung, wie der Charleston am Ende, aber wir behalten unsere Arbeitsschuhe an. Es ist ein ernstes Stück.
