English composer Edward Elgar actually wrote this musical composition for his future wife and presented it to her as "Love's Greeting" when he proposed. He later penned 3 different arrangements of the tune: one for solo piano; for violin & piano; and an orchestral version. He also re-named the compostion "Salut d'Amour" - thinking that the French title would help the music gain wider international approval. This String Duo arrangement is most definitely a duo, as the melody volleys back and forth equally between each instrument. It is an exquisite choice for any wedding.
