Arranged for piano solo by Bryan Kelly

Treasured by organists, but no less admired in its orchestral arrangement often heard on Classic FM, this delightful prelude on the Welsh hymn tune known as Rhosymedre is a perfect union of the style of Bach and RVW. No less aptly known by the name of 'Lovely', the tune appears in the manner of a choral prelude, which Bryan Kelly has skilfully re-crafted for piano solo.

Of intermediate difficulty, and well within the range of players of Grade 5 standard or above, this new version of the piece also complements the arrangement for piano duet by Reginald Hadfield, already available in Stainer & Bell's Easy Festival Duet series.

Easy to read, but I’m
Easy to read, but I’m unfamiliar with a 4/2 time signature. Not sure if it’s Vaughn Williams’s choice or Bryan kelly’s

Rhosymedre
This is a good transcription of the original organ prelude. The challenge is to bring out the melody at the beginning and end when left hand takes both melody (done on a separate manual on organ) and bass line (on pedal on organ). Not impossible but definitely challenging (and particularly if one has small hands!). Very pleased with this edition as it is one of my favorite organ preludes and the church where I play no longer has an organ.
