Piano Solo. Composed by Franz Schubert. Edited by Paul Mies. Sheet Music. Paperbound. Henle Music Folios. Pages: 29. Classical. Softcover. 32 pages. G. Henle #HN156. Published by G. Henle (HL.51480156).
ISBN 9790201801568. UPC: 884088173593. 9.25x12.25x0.094 inches.
Schubert composed his piano sonata in a minor in May 1825; it is one of the few piano works that was published during his lifetime. The four movements are expressive but each in its own way: a ballade style in the first piece, a songful second movement, surging restlessness in the third and eruptive passion in the final movement. Together, however, they constitute a uniform work.
