A long process of renewal ensues, with the baby taking hesitant steps and learning through painstaking effort how to do everything all over again. Written for a friend whose name contains the musical letters ABD and E, which comprise the opening and closing. From “88 Constellations” a collection by Heather Cattanach featuring one piece of piano music for each of the 88 constellations (to match the number of keys on a standard piano).
