Backstage Pass
I am always looking for great pieces for level one students that don't SOUND level one! This is it! The students love the rock/blues sound. The piece is accessible and well written. Fun piece for recitals!

a nice late-beginner introduction to the blues
This is on the level 2 list of NFMC for 2011-13. It's an accessible, albeit short, piece that late beginner students will feel comfortable with. For recitals, think about how to repeat certain portions in order to make it longer... this is a compliment to the composer, I'd say!
