Alma Redemptoris Mater {Loving Mother of the Redeemer) is a piano arrangement of one of the four Marian antiphons, usually sung after Compline, or Night Prayer. This antiphon is sung throughout the Advent and Christmas seasons. The beautiful melody of this antiphon is captured in the shifting tonal centers of this arrangement, which hopes to convey, in some small way, the gentle character of Blessed Mother Mary. The piece is especially suitable to be played as a prelude during Advent and Christmas. Advanced Intermediate level, and an enjoyable and uplifting piece to play.
