Worst Edition
The Busoni edition of the Inventions is perhaps the worst edition ever published. Busoni writes out all of the ornaments, but he writes them out incorrectly. Phrasing, staccato marks, and dynamics have been added that are not Bach's notations, and they are often not even in keeping with Bach's intentions.Students need to learn these works, but not from this edition. Use the Peters or Henle edition instead, or the Alfred edition if cost is an issue
