The Story of King Arthur leads us back into the Middle Ages and straight to the legend of Arthur himself. The Belgian composer Filip Ceunen sketched the famous legend in three linked movements Camelot, The Holy Grail andExcalibur, thus creating an exciting work that is suitable for any wind band at a lower level. With this composition, Filip Ceunen won the ‘Familie Van Riet-prijs 2015’ (Family Van Riet Award 2015).

The Story of King Arthur neemt ons mee naar de middeleeuwen- en wel naar de legende van koning Arthur. De Belgische componist Filip Ceunen schetst dit spannende verhaal middels drie in elkaar overlopende delen: Camelot, The HolyGrail (De heilige graal) en Excalibur. Daarmee schreef hij een spannend werk dat speelbaar is voor elk blaasorkest uit de lagere afdelingen. Met deze compositie won Filip Ceunen de ‘Familie Van Riet-prijs 2015’.

The Story of King Arthur führt uns zurück ins Mittelalter geradewegs zur Legende um König Artus. Der belgische Komponist Filip Ceunen skizzierte die berühmte Sage in den drei ineinander übergehenden Sätzen Camelot, The Holy Grail (Derheilige Gral) und Excalibur und schuf damit ein spannendes Werk, das für jedes Blasorchester der unteren Stufen spielbar ist. Filip Ceunen wurde für diese Komposition mit dem Family Van Riet Award 2015“ ausgezeichnet.

Le compositeur belge Filip Ceunen décrit cette histoire passionnante en trois mouvements sans interruption : Camelot, représenté par un thèmeféerique et majestueux, le Saint-Graal, dépeint par un thème mystérieux et lyrique puis Excalibur, qui prend forme dans un allegro énergique. The Story of King Arthur est une œuvre adaptée aux ensembles en cours d’apprentissage.Avec cette composition, Filip Ceunen gagna le Familie Van Riet-prijs 2015 (Prix de la Famille Van Riet 2015).
