Solid Classical Repertoire, No Chords
This collection offers a vast array of classical pieces, suitable for those impromptu requests for familiar classical tunes. The arrangements are solid piano solo reductions. Be aware, as a classical compilation, it doesn't include chord symbols, so you'll need to know your theory for improvisation. Great for classical events where standard interpretations are expected, but less so for lead sheet gigs. A heavy book, but worth having for the repertoire.

Finally Playing My Favorite Classics!
I absolutely love this book! It's fantastic to have so many beloved classical pieces by composers like Bach and Mozart all in one place. I've always wanted to learn 'Fur Elise,' and these arrangements make it feel achievable. The intermediate level is a good challenge without being frustrating, letting me relax and enjoy sounding like the beautiful originals. Perfect for my weekend playing sessions!

Excellent Resource for Intermediate Students
This 'Big Book' is a solid resource for intermediate piano students, covering SMP Levels 3-4. The inclusion of clear fingerings is extremely helpful for developing good technique and navigating challenging passages. With its wide range of classical period pieces, it's excellent for improving sight-reading and rhythmic accuracy. Engraving is clean, making it easy on the eyes for young learners. A valuable addition to any teaching library.

Great Piano Repertoire, Adapt for Voice
As a collaborative pianist, this collection presents excellent solo piano arrangements, often featuring the melody beautifully within the texture. However, it's crucial to note it's a *piano solo* book, without vocal lines or lyrics. While fantastic for exploring instrumental interpretations of these classics, using it for direct vocal accompaniment requires adaptation. A strong choice for building piano repertoire, less so for immediate vocal coaching.

Great book!
I would highly recomend this book for the intermediate to advanced pianist! Good selection of music by various composers. I really am enjoying going through and learning to play songs that I have wanted to learn for a long time!

Fantastic
Great selection of pieces with many loved classics. My kids love it. I would say the pieces range from grade 4-5 mostly (Trinity or Royal Schools).

Fun To Play
This collection is fun to just play through page by page. But exhausting...it has a huge number of familiar pieces. Don't get started until you have a couple of hours.

Careful, some transpcribed pieces
I purchased this book for my motivated intermediate daughter. Her enthusiasium was dashed after she looked at some of the pieces with her piano teacher, who explained to me that several of the pieces were orchestra pieces transcribed for piano, so they are very advanced. After years in music, he would have to take his time and study the pieces before playing them! I was not happy about that. There are some other pieces in the book that were truly written for piano that are for intermediate or beginniner-intermediate that are appropriate.

Perfect for me
I haven't played keyboard instruments for over 20 years and I received a wonderful keyboard for Christmas. I have all my old piano books but I wanted to expand my repertoire with something new. The Big Book of Classical Music is exactly what I was looking for--it contains a lot of pieces that I like and they are challenging enough to get me back into practice. I don't think it will take me long to get my hand-eye coordination back.
