Pure Joy for Tchaikovsky Fans!
I absolutely love this collection! As an adult learner, tackling these SMP Level 7-8 Tchaikovsky pieces is challenging but incredibly rewarding. There are so many famous melodies from his symphonies and ballets – it's thrilling to play parts of the Piano Concerto No. 1 or 'Waltz of the Flowers' and actually sound like the originals. A perfect way to relax and dive into the Romantic period.

Solid Classical Selections for Events
A great collection for those Tchaikovsky requests at formal events. The faithful piano solo transcriptions of well-known works like Nutcracker excerpts are quite playable at an early advanced level. It's a hefty 216 pages, so plan for page turns, and note that it provides standard notation with fingerings, not separate chord symbols for quick improvisation. Good value for specific classical gigs.

Valuable for Piano Study of Operatic Works
While this is a piano solo collection, it's incredibly useful for exploring the rich piano texture of Tchaikovsky's operatic excerpts like 'Lenski's Aria.' The arrangements are faithful early advanced transcriptions, giving a full harmonic and melodic context. It doesn't include lyrics, so it’s more for understanding the composition from a pianist's perspective rather than direct vocal accompaniment during a lesson.
