Over The Rainbow- Vocal with Big Band/Jazz Ensemble. "Over the Rainbow" is more than just a song—it’s a timeless expression of hope, longing, and imagination. Originally sung by Judy Garland in The Wizard of Oz (1939), it quickly became an anthem of dreaming beyond present troubles. This arrangement features vocal with a lush harmonic bed. The melodic line varies from the standard (just a bit) and is supported by integrated accompaniment. The use of harmon muted trumpets, paired with the flugelhorn offers a texture/color seldom heard in big band arrangements. A subdued, gentle rock ballad carries this tune to it’s inevitable climax with full band. Vocal range G-C (octave and a 4th). Lead Trumpet up to G5. Intermediate level.
