My First Compositions includes 3 page formats: color by key or notation, composing templates, and practice drawing notation. The sequence begins with composing on the black keys with quarter notes and evolves to use more complex rhythm notation and an increasing set of white keys in middle C position.
Students will learn about:
- finger numbers
- names of the white keys
- eighth note pairs
- quarter notes
- half notes
- dotted half notes
- whole notes
- quarter rests
- half rests
