John Thompson's Modern Course for the Piano Grade One
This book was originally published in the 1940's and the songs are still the same great sequence for accumulative progression. Recently the page format has changed with the score being enlarged and some of the side notes deleted to make room. The cover is now a staple back instead of a glue back which makes the book lay flat better. There are a handful of fingering mistakes in this new book. So, a teacher should preview play each piece before teaching to correct.
