Das 1566 veröffentlichte Madrigal „Vestiva i colli aus Palestrinas fünftem Madrigalbuch gehört zu den Perlen der Renaissancemusik. Diese kammermusikalische Trio-Fassung folgt dem Arrangement von Bartolomeo de Selma y Salaverde, dem venezianischen Fagottvirtuosen, der 1638 in seiner Sammlung Canzoni, fantasie et correnti die Grundlage für solistische Holzbläserkunst legte. Die Blockflöte führt die helle, singende Sopranstimme mit zarter Leichtigkeit, das Fagott webt Alto und Tenor in warmem, tragendem Klang – teils oktaviert, teils im Wechsel, um die polyphonen Imitationen lebendig zu halten. Das Cembalo bildet mit zurückhaltender Generalbassaussetzung das harmonische Fundament. So entsteht Die Hügel in Grün: eine poetische Miniatur, in der Palestrinas kontrapunktische Meisterschaft auf die Klangwelt des frühen Barock trifft – ein stiller Spaziergang durch grüne Hügel, getragen von Melancholie und Frühlingssehnsucht.
