Desert Night is the third title in a collection of solo piano pieces called SIMPLE SONGS. Desert Night is built on a simple ostinato pattern in the bass and utilizes the harmonic minor scale and chromaticism to evoke thoughts of camels and the arid night sky of the desert. Although perhaps the simplest in form and construction of the pieces in the collection, this piece is fun and memorable. This "movement" is suitable for intermediate to advanced pianists and is approximately 1 minute and 40 seconds in length.
