Mozart perfected the form of the modern piano concerto, which from about 1750 begins to show its affinity with sonata form, in his 21 concertos for solo piano and orchestra. The D minor piano concerto K.466 is one of the few concertos which remained in concert repertoire in the years following Mozart's death. After the resuscitation of the other concertos it remained the most popular of all Mozart's works in this genre, and there can scarcely be a pianist who has not studied it or played it in a concert.

Great edition!
When I first got this score, I was reluctant to open it because it was so beautiful (the matte finish, red cover is amazing). Once I got inside, I found that this is a great edition that is truly urtext. My only complaint is that there are no indications of where the solo sections begin and end; often times the solo will follow tradition and double the orchestral parts. Today, however, this is not the case. I had to listen to recordings to mark the solo sections. I am excited to work on this concerto!

No cadenza
I thought that since this was an urtext edition it would be excellent. However, several points before you consider buying this version of the book. 1. It does not have a cadenza. You can't play this for competitions with one. 2. No fingerings. 3. Print size is small. 4. Optional notes are same size as notes you are supposed to play. I do enjoy this concerto immensely but I will be looking for a better version of it because it did not fit to my needs.
