Stunning
Hatfield is one of my favourite composers as there is such range and depth to his writing. This is one of my all-time favourite pieces to do with high school students. While the notes are deceptively easy, tuning is difficult and it forces the students to really listen. Once that is mastered, setting the mood is the next task. A beginning choir can do surface work with this piece while an advanced choir can really work on the beauty of the piece. An excellent composition!
