A very practical collection for gigs. The note-for-note accuracy means you're playing faithful renditions of Elton John's hits, and having chord names is essential for quick reference. While 160 pages can mean some tricky page turns, the comprehensive selection makes it ideal for fulfilling requests. A worthwhile addition to the gig bag.

Excellent for Intermediate Students

New-found Respect for Elton John!
Listening to Elton John's music for years, I never realized just how talented he actually was until playing the original keys for his songs. I'm an advanced pianist myself, I've performed countless times, and yet still it's taken me a minute to learn some of these songs. Singing along with them, on the other hand, will take me quite a while to perfect. Definitely worth purchasing, countless hours of fun for intermediate-advanced students.

Excellent transcriptions and quite accurate!
I bought this as a basic Elton John reference book and was quite surprised with the note-for-note transcriptions. This is an excellent book for anyone wanting to play Elton John songs just like the piano parts (and in some cases other parts, e.g., synth parts on Benny & The Jets and string parts on Goodbye Yellow Brick Road) on the album versions. A very good book indeed!
