The Calm was composed by Jim Stewart in 2002 for the Opera New Brunswick production of The Marco Polo Suite - A Folk Opera. Chris created the string quartet allowing it to rise out of the depths of “The Storm." It is spiritual in nature and this string orchestra version possesses both reverence & warmth. The string sections giving depth to the soloists initial statement of the theme. Hope and gratitude felt by the passengers who survived the sea storm.
