Author Chris Morgan draws special attention to the importance of improvisation and composing, as they form a major part of GCSE and A-level syllabuses later on. Improvisational exercises building on the chord symbols, as well as the comparison of the differing styles of harmony, melody and rhythm of the songs are great starting points even at this early stage.
