This suite can stand on its own, although a knowledge of the Middle English period poem might increase harpists’ (and audiences’) pleasure in the piece. It might be helpful to intersperse selections from the poem or short explanation of the literary references when using the music for a performance. Only one piece is written in the key of G. The rest are key of C. No accidentals, busy left hand, tempo changes in some selections. Beginning tempo marks and fingerings are suggestions only; numbers below the notes indicate fingerings for left hand, and those above are for right hand.
