“Only Time” is one of Enya’s most popular songs, and people will be thrilled to hear it played so beautifully on the harp! It’s thought-provoking and rich in harmonies and quite relaxing to play. In addition to building on your technical skills, you’ll explore various sounds we can create on the harp by learning a special effect called “p.d.l.t.” that creates a guitar-like sound. Other skills learned in this piece are 4-2-1 patterns in the left hand, some scales in the right hand, and a range of dynamics. There are no lever changes!Difficulty Level and Skills Required: Late-beginner for Big and Small Harps. The right hand has some scales and overlapping brackets with repeated notes. The left hand has overlapping brackets with many 4-2-1 patterns. Both hands play p.d.l.t at times. Compared to the intermediate version, the left hand is greatly simplified, allowing you to focus on relaxing and getting a good tone out of the strings. And it’s only at this level that you get to learn the p.d.l.t effect!Type of harp: Bigger harp version for 26 string harps and larger. Smaller harp version for 22 string harps and larger (C-C).Range: For 26 string harps: lowest note is C one octave below middle C, highest note is D almost two octaves above middle C.
