The idea of composing this series of piano pieces was conceived on the occasion of the 80th birthday of the famous Belgian painter and sculptor Octave Landuyt. ‘Secret Inspirations’ is an unfinished series of 7 piano pieces written between 2002 and 2004. Each piece tells its own story and is conceived as a short poem based on intimate moments of the composers' private life. Moments of emotion, astonishment, grief, happiness, passion and beauty. Moments you want to hold on to and cherish until they can be committed to white paper with groups of 5 regularly interspaced parallel lines... All the pieces of ‘Secret Inspirations’ are freely inspired and all have their own individual style. Only the subtitles provide a hint about the image the composer had in mind... .
