Great Church Solos
I love the songs in this collection and have sung many of them in church. Craig Courtney has a respectable understanding of a soprano's vocal range. The piano accompaniments are lovely as well. I highly recommend this collection to any church soloist.

Great book for the church soloist
I've performed a half dozen of these solos -- that makes this book a great value. These arrangements fit nicely in a traditional service but are also at home in contemporary style worship. My favorites: Sometimes a Light Surprises and How Great Thou Art. Courtney's arrangement of the latter expresses quiet awe for a couple of verses, then breaks open and gets very big for the verse When Christ shall come. The pianist will enjoy this book as much as the singer does.
