Composed by Craig Courtney. Choral. Sacred Anthem, Advent, Christ the King. Octavo. Lorenz Publishing Company #10/4171L. Published by Lorenz Publishing Company (LO.10-4171L).

ISBN 9781429125901.

A stunning work of extraordinary power, this inspired anthem begins with a haunting melody that underscores the yearning of "hearts weighed down by ancient grief and centuries of sorrow." The melody and lyrics gradually build to a dramatic climax of fulfillment that is found only in Emmanuel as His faithful people await "the day of His appearing.".

Powerful
This arrangement beautifully marries the text with a rich melody. The singer and listener understand the yearning for God that moves us to seek Him more deeply. I liked it when I first heard it and love it now.

Excellent
The cry of every human heart captured in the best anthem I've done in 10 years of highschool conducting.

The Yearnig
With an almost haunting melody, this lovely piece has very meaningful words and is very different from the norm. It was not difficult to learn but took a little time to get the tone and overall quality to develop and mellow into what we wanted to achieve.

This is a Gem!
My church choir loved this piece, and it moved some in the congregation to tears! The text is profound and moving, and the music complements it exquisitely. Wow--gems like this are rare.

The Yearning
I don't know when an anthem has touchedme as deeply as this anthem has. The words and musical arrangment truly speakto the deep longing that is in everyones heart for an answer to the emptiness in the human soul. Excellentpiece for advent, we used it Dec of 2011. Let your choir listen to it fromthis site on your computer and they willbe eager to learn it with all it's nuances.

The tingle Factor
This is a beautiful piece of music, and quite simple to learn and perform too. A lovely melody line, complimented by an evocative piano accompaniment

Inspiring Music
We have been rehearsing this for the last three weeks, and will offer it on Sunday, December 1 (first week of Advent). It's musically inspiring - so much so that we ask to repeat singing it in practice. And the words are the perfect complement to the music. I know that it will be a strong and beloved part of our Advent repetoire.

Powerful
The combination of text and musical line was just extraordinary. We performed it for the 4th Sunday in Advent and it was so popular, we repeated it as a prelude on Christmas Eve. This is a wonderful, moving piece of music that was easy to learn.
