Reminiscent of Jesus entering Jerusalem on a donkey, this arrangement uses the rhythmic walk of the donkey coming over the horizon and into view carrying in the repetitive melody the familiar text by which this spiritual is known. Although particularly appropriate for Palm Sunday and Easter, this tune will gladden the hearts of the pianist and the congregation whenever and where ever it is played.
