To arrange of this song - JVKE – Pretty,one of the greatest challenges was translating the ukulele part to piano. While the ukulele sounds natural and charming in the original, a direct transfer of similar notes to piano felt unbalanced. In addition, JVKE’s music often relies on a subtle, indistinct chord style, which makes it especially difficult to adapt faithfully for piano performance. Another obstacle was the interlude: a flowing, continuous melody that overlaps with the return of the verse and continues throughout the section. Balancing these overlapping lines within two hands was demanding, but I strove to bring out their beauty as best I could.
