Quarter notes are used instead of the original 16th's, and the left hand has been simplified to 2 notes with no rests, making the pattern between the hands very easy to see. For a young student or adult beginner, this is the best way to introduce this prelude.

Late Elem/Early Intermed Intro to a Bach Classic
My Elementary piano student is ready for a challenge. His mom would like him to learn Bachs Prelude in C for a video for his great-grandfathers birthday. This seemed impossible until I found this arrangement which has made the piece accessible for a motivated beginner. Adaptations that help: The arrangement is clearly laid out. The 16th notes have been changed to quarter notes (which my student loves to play fast, anyway). Its in C, with accidentals clearly indicated. Fingering is very helpful and usually works for a young student with small hands. It IS 3 pages long, so could be intimidating, but lots of repeated patterns helps. Teacher guidance will be helpful for Ledger line notes and a shift to RH bass clef near the end, depending on the students method level when starting the piece.
