本曲是以十件傳統樂器：梆笛、簫、板胡、大廣弦、三弦、平劇用的大小鑼、堂鼓、板鼓和碰鈴編制寫成的室內樂曲，全曲共分三段，慢板─小快板─慢板。內容是在敘述一個人在黑暗中期待黎明來臨的心境與過程。
※本曲1976年應雲門舞集委託創作之作品，同年於台北國父紀念館舉行世界首演，由雲門舞集舞團擔任演出。
Introduction :
This chamber music composition was written for ten traditional Chinese instruments: the bangdi, xiao, banhu, daguangxian, sanxian, large and small luo (used in imperial opera), tanggu, bangu and pengling. The composition is divided into three sections: adagio, allegretto, adagio, and describes the mood of approaching dawn.
Expectation was commissioned by the Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan in 1976, and was premiered the same year by Cloud Gate at Taiwan's National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.
This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global
