O Sing to the Lord a New Song by Joel Martinson SSAA - Sheet Music

By Joel Martinson
SSAA choir, organ - Medium Difficult

SKU: PL.9710

Composed by Joel Martinson. Cathedral. Choral, Festival, General. Octavo. Paraclete Press #9710. Published by Paraclete Press (PL.9710).

This joyful anthem is taken from Mr. Martinson's larger cantata "Salvation unto Us Has Come." This excerpt from Psalm 96 opens with unison treble voices while the central portion is set for all four voices which creates a rich and majestic setting of the text "For great is the Lord..." The piece then returns to the opening melodic material and ends with a great crescendo to the highest part of the range. Treble choirs will find this challenging anthem greatly rewarding and it would be especially appropriate for a festival service.
