The song could be taught by rote after only one or two lessons or with attention to notation after a few weeks of lessons.
The shortest rhythm is a quarter note (crotchet). Some half note (minim) rests are used. Most rests are omitted to draw the student's attention to the melody line as it passes between the two hands. A few simple ties are used (no syncopated rhythms).
Lots of fingerings are offered throughout. The hands remain lined up next to each other, in a 5-finger position throughout the whole song. A repeat mark is used and some simple dynamics are offered (obviously, not obligatory!)
A different, very simple arrangement is also available with an accompaniment for the teacher or an intermediate standard player.
