This early-intermediate sightreading book presents carefully crafted variations of 3A Lesson Book pieces. The student gains confidence with the familiar and challenge in perceiving the new. Sighteading goes “beyond the notes” to recognition of musical patterns: the Alberti Bass accompaniment, chunking rhythm patterns in 3/8 and 68 time, the triplet in various time signatures, and expanded intervals through the 7th. Musical art provides theory review.

Well designed sight reading book
I have tried many sight reading books with my students and I found this series the most enjoyable. It is supposed to be used along with the Piano Adventures lesson books but it could be used as a stand alone product. Each sight reading topic is formatted into a five days assignment and is progressively getting more difficult. The book is filled with little games and short questions for the students to think about. Highly recommended.

Fun for adults like me
I have been taking group piano lessons for four years and while I played as a child it has taken a while to get back into the swing of things. Our teacher requested that we buy this book, and well the pieces are quite easy, they are Surprisingly challenging to sight read absolutely correctly the first time. I was a teacher so I am kind of an easy mark for cute little things like Draw in the bar lines here by the cute little chord man but as a teacher this seems to me to be a pedagogically sound book and I am enjoying working through it
