Les Préludes is one of the most famous Romantic orchestra works, the third of thirteen Symphonic Poems by Franz Liszt. It was composed between 1845 and 1854, when it got its final form and premiered on 23 February 1854 conducted by Franz Liszt himself. The arrangement is kept in the original key of the composition for symphony orchestra and was commissioned and first time performed by Mozarteum Wind Philharmonic Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer on 17 May 2014 at the Great Hall of the Mozarteum Foundation in Salzburg, Austria.
