Composed by Richard Wagner. Arranged by Albert Schwarzmann. This edition: pdf. 19th Century, Opera, Romantic Period. 364 pages. Edition Schwalbe #1197732. Published by Edition Schwalbe (A0.1629388).
Rienzi, the Last of the Tribunes is Richard Wagner's third opera, which premiered on 20 October 1842 at the Royal Saxon Court Theatre in Dresden. The overture is the most famous part of the opera, because parts of it have often been used in telvision or radio. Wagner scored 2 natural horns and trumpets in D beside the valve instruments, that could be a special incentive to perform this piece. The arrangement is kept in the original key of the composition for symphony orchestra and was commissioned and first time performed by Mozarteum Wind Philharmonic Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer on 17 May 2014 at the Great Hall of the Mozarteum Foundation in Salzburg, Austria. A live recording of this concert is available at https://www.salzburg-windphilharmonic.at/de/die-macht-des-schicksals/ or https://www.jpc.de/jpcng/classic/detail/-/art/die-macht-des-schicksals/hnum/10428727?iampartner=303&subid=umr2&ref=partner.jpc.de .
