This arrangement for brass quintet is a refreshing presentation of this old favorite hymn. The style develops from a thoughtful hymn-like beginning, to an easy swing, then to a full-out swing with optional tambourine, and, finally to a quiet meditative ending. Alternative instrumentation consisting of Alto Sax (for Horn in F), Tenor Sax (for Trombone), and Bass Guitar (for Tuba) creates a very nice musical texture and is another great way to present this piece. This piece is well suited for many venues, and is readily playable by many community and church quintets.
