Composed by Tomohiro Tatebe. Chamber Music. Ensemble. Score & parts. Duration 4:30. Bravo Music #ENMS-84442. Published by Bravo Music (BZ.ENMS-84442).
Commissioned by Tokai University Sugao Senior High School Wind Symphony for the 2014 All Japan Ensemble Contest. Mr. Sadao Kashima, director of the school band, asked me to write a cheerful piece like my previous work "Toward the Fair with Sweetheart on a Fine Day". He also asked that it be scored for seven brass plus a percussion part. I considered the cylindrical bore brass as the primary instruments with multi-percussion part. The title does not have any specific meaning. However, imagine the different emotional responses of looking up at an amazing blue sky on a clear day. Some might feel something positive. Others might sense something overwhelming. To depict this amazement, the music begins with an expressive flugelhorn line. The piece gradually adds its exciting and rhythmical characteristics leading in to the main section. Towards the end, the solo melody reappears in a different voice and the music accelerates and concludes.
Premiered on January 5th, 2015 for the 35th Tokyo Metropolitan High School Ensemble Competition at Fuchu-no-mori Art Theatre. (Tomohiro Tatebe).
