Drawing from some of the lesser-known material from Bizet's famous opera, this arrangement closely portrays the original with its beautiful, lyrical melodies and lush harmonies. Solos are written for flute, oboe, and clarinet. The piece also provides some optional notes to more accurately resemble the original material. (3:00).

Intermezzo
This arrangement is nicely done - the harmonies as scored for concert band work really well, and the catchy motif developed in the tune will stick with everyone in the band until well after you've finished playing it. Aside from the Flute solo, the rest of the band can cruise through the piece and still make it sound good. It's great to see a classic piece such as this made accessable to players of mixed skill levels that still sounds like the real deal (ie the effect isn't dumbed down to suit early-intermediate to intermediate level players). Sounds superb in a cathedral as my band played it recently. Recommended.
