A proud and expansive concert band (wind symphony) arrangement of I Am Australian, originally prepared by Daryl McKenzie for the Royal Danish Wedding in 2004. This setting treats the song with dignity and warmth, allowing the melody to unfold naturally across the ensemble while building to broad, ceremonial climaxes. The arrangement balances lyrical phrasing with full symphonic weight, making it ideal for significant national, civic, and celebratory occasions.
Scored for a full wind symphony, the writing makes effective use of layered woodwinds, warm brass chorales, and supportive rhythmic underpinning, with optional rhythm section adding depth and flexibility where required. The result is a versatile and emotionally resonant concert item suitable for formal ceremonies, commemorations, and feature performances.
