Joel Raney’s selections for this collection may share the same water, rain, and weather theme—a play on rainy, I mean Raney, and a chance to turn the tables on a lifetime of being showered by silly puns and deluged by bad jokes—but there is a mix of lighthearted, jazzy arrangements as well as more traditional, classically styled settings. Joel wrote them to be mildly challenging, yet easily attainable for the intermediate pianists, and most are of an acceptable length for preludes, offertories, and postludes.

Hymns for a Raney Sunday
I like this book...a lot and have played songs from it for services at two different churches. These songs are 1) fun to play, 2) tuneful, listenable music, 3) enough variety to play 2-3 songs from the same book without reaching for another book. My favorite is "Unclouded Day"--I've had people in the congregation clap along!

Another Super Raney Book
Joel Raney always offers new and fresh arrangements. This one is no exception. Like a River Glorious is so powerful and is worth the cost alone. This offering is very playable. Advanced intermediate is a good description. Highly recommended!

Another Raney Winner
I love Joel Raney's arrangements, and though most are difficult to play, it is worth the effort to learn them! This collection is no exception. The water-themed arrangements of familiar old hymns and gospel songs have a lot of variety and moods from serene to jazzy.
