I love the first collection so I bought the second version.. [,,,]. The music is just so so.. I would not want to play any pieces from this book for my church. Theres nothing special.. its just bunch of notes without beautiful harmonies.

Love Volume 1, but this volume is a disappointment. Selections and arrangements are not as good. Would not buy again.

When I first got this book I ran through most of the songs in it. Many contain dissonance which I do not care for. There are also lengthy interludes which do not contain the melody and would confuse my congregations. I respect other's opinions but I wish I had not purchased this book.

As much as I like the arrangements in this second collection, I was surprised that 13 of the selections were the same tunes as in the first volume (albeit different arrangers). Would have been nice to have had a totally new grouping.

I have this and the first in the series and love them both. Nearly every arrangement is enjoyable and suitable for church or my own pleasure. Some peices are arranged classically, some a little more modern - a good variety. None of them get too exotic where you can't tell the song and harmonies are not too unusual. Some arrangements I can polish to performance level pretty quickly (w/i a week). Others are difficult enough that they are something I'll need to work up to. I rated this as Intermediate, and most of it is, but some of the more difficult pieces are probably better marked early advanced. When you consider the number of pieces it's a great cost/piece. Can't wait for the next volume.
