Fun to Play My Favorite Herb Alpert Hits!
I love playing along to Herb Alpert, and this collection lets me sound just like the records! Hits like 'A Taste of Honey' and 'Tijuana Taxi' are incredibly enjoyable. Some of the 'artist transcriptions' are a bit challenging for a weekend player, but it's very rewarding. It's great to relax and jam with these classic jazz-pop tunes.

This book is exactly as promoted. It contains the trumpet parts exactly as on his recordings. I doubt any beginner could play this Carmen or Zorba as presented/recorded, let alone count the rhythms. It's great fun to play along with this music I grew up with. Great art? Maybe not. Great fun? Definitely. I dubbed a cd of all of these song selections, in order, so that I could play through the book without changing discs. Enjoy.

Artist Elementary School Transcriptions?
A huge disappointment for someone trying to find music for the trumpet. Ironic since Herb Alpert is a reknown trumpeteer! Songs half filled with rests make it impossible to play the entire song. Luckily I found an old Tijuana Brass Book. Where is all the music written for the trumpet?!
