To the original editions of these two harpsichord books has been added a manuscript Air and the Venitienne from the 1707 Ballard edition in order to assemble Louis Marchand's entire output for harpsichord. Preface by: Jean Saint-Arroman: the ornamentation of the harpsichord pieces. Philippe Lescat: the great French harpsichord makers of Louis Marchand's time. Collection supervised by the musicologist Jean Saint-Arroman, professor at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique et de Danse of Paris and at the CEFEDEM Ile de France (Training Centre for Music Teachers).
